How to Check If Your Athlete Already Has an Account
Check for an existing account and 6-8 ID before you create a new one, so stats don't split across two profiles.
Two accounts for the same athlete is the most common reason stats go missing. Check first.
- Ask everyone in the family. A parent, an older athlete or another family member may have made the account. Look in every family email for a 6-8 activation email.
- On the 6-8 Mobile App login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter each family email. If an account uses that email, you get a reset email. No email after a few minutes? Check your spam or junk folder, and check the address for typos. A missing email doesn't prove there is no account.
- Ask your coach or club whether they tagged your athlete. Coaches search athletes by name or 6-8 ID on the 6-8 Game Desk.
- Still not sure? Submit a request with the athlete's full name, date of birth and club. The 6-8 Team finds the account from the name and birth date; the club helps when two athletes share a name. To keep accounts private, the 6-8 Team confirms whether the account exists by emailing the address on file, and doesn't share details with whoever asked.
The app checks too. The 6-8 Mobile App does not create a second Athlete Profile with the same name and birthdate as an athlete already in 6-8. It shows Athlete already exists. If it is your athlete, tap Link to my account: the existing profile and its game data come to your account, marked Pending verification until 6-8 confirms the link. If another account manages the athlete, that account is asked to share the profile with you. For anything else, tap Email sara@6-8sports.com.
Found two accounts for the same athlete? Don't delete the extra account. Submit a request with both 6-8 IDs. The 6-8 Team merges them with a staff tool that moves everything to the profile you keep, and the merge can be undone.
