What to Do If Your Device Dies Mid-Game
Your device died while scoring. Here's how to restart the game and keep your stats accurate.
The 6-8 Game Desk saves the game as you score. When the device or the app shuts down mid-game, the game usually waits for you under In progress. If it's gone, start a new game and enter the stats so far.
Before you start: a charged device (the same one or a backup), and the score and stats so far, written on paper if you have them.
- Charge or turn your device back on, or switch to a backup device logged into the same 6-8 Game Desk account.
- Open Game Scoring and check the In progress tab. If your game is there, tap it, tap Continue here if asked, and keep scoring. Every stat recorded before the shutdown is kept.
- If it's gone, create a new game with the same teams, light/dark caps and game title.
- Enter the stats from the start of the game up to where the device died, using your paper notes.
- Keep scoring from the current moment.
- After the game, submit a request with the game title, date and teams, and choose Game-day urgent so the 6-8 Team can remove the incomplete game.
6-8 Tip: Charge the device fully before warm-ups and keep it plugged in for the whole game. Bring a power bank to pools without outlets.
