What Is the College Profile and How Do I Share It?
Build the profile college coaches see, choose what it shows, and send it with your coach link.
The College Profile is the page a college coach sees when you send your coach link. It puts the details college coaches look for, such as high school, grad year, GPA, About Me, achievements and highlight videos, next to the athlete's game data. It opens only from your coach link and is never public.
Before you start: a 6-8 Mobile App account with an Athlete Profile. The coach link and the details college coaches look for come with Premium.
Public Profile and College Profile
- Public Profile: what anyone sees when they click View next to the athlete on the 6-8 Dashboard. It shows game data and Athlete details such as birth year, height, weight, wingspan, home town and swim times.
- College Profile: what a college coach sees from your coach link. Nobody else can open it. It can also show GPA, transcripts, About Me, achievements, highlight videos and My Coaches.
Both profiles use the same details. Each one has its own Shown or Hidden choice for every item, so a detail can be on the College Profile and off the Public Profile. Choosing what the Public Profile shows comes with Plus or Premium.
Build the College Profile
- Open the 6-8 Dashboard. In the 6-8 Mobile App, open the Athlete Profile and tap Create my College Profile. On a computer, log in at 6-8dashboard.com with your app email and password.
- If the editor is not open yet, choose Edit my College Profile from the account menu.
- At the top, choose College Profile. The same toggle switches to Public Profile.
- Fill in the details and set each item to Shown or Hidden. New athletes start with name, gender, grad year and position Shown and everything else Hidden. The 6-8 team reviews each GPA.
- Add up to 5 other video links from YouTube or Hudl, and up to 3 club or high school coaches under My Coaches so a college coach can reach them. My Coaches appear only on the College Profile.
- Tap Save.
- Choose My College Profile from the account menu to see exactly what a college coach sees.
Share it with a college coach
- In Edit my College Profile, turn on Coach link and tap Save. The coach link is off until you turn it on.
- Open My College Profile and tap Copy coach link.
- Paste the link into an email or text to the coach. The coach opens it without a 6-8 account or login.
On the athlete's page in the 6-8 Dashboard, Share with a college coach opens My College Profile, and Choose what to share picks what the coach link shows, such as PI, Skill radar, Season stats, Game by game and Highlights.
To stop sharing, turn the coach link off and tap Save. The link then does not open for anyone, including coaches who already have it.
